“Working with Valarie was a wonderful experience! Valarie altered my wedding dress and did a beautiful job. Valarie also altered my sister-in-law’s bridesmaid dress and did a great job for that as well. I don’t know much about clothing or fashion, but Valarie explained everything clearly and made sure I was confident in any decision I was making. Valarie’s pricing was fair and they were easy to communicate with.
Going in for my fitting appointments felt like spending time with a friend! Valarie’s in-home studio is so cute and well-organized. Valarie also has an adorable and friendly cat that made any fitting appointment even more fun. I really appreciated working with a queer sewist for my wedding! Valarie was body positive as well, so the focus of the appointment was making me feel comfortable rather than trying to hide or change how my body naturally looks. Overall, I highly recommend Valarie!”

“Valarie fixed / repurposed some clothes for my husband and myself, and I can’t fully express how grateful we are that we found her work notice. From my own experience, I brought in a pair of jeans that I wanted turned into flares but also have them fitted; when they came to me the crotch was very low, the behind saggy and the waist…just fit oddly. Not only are they now amazing bell bottoms, but they actually fit my body!
I also brought in a tablecloth that a friend from Mexico had made as a belated wedding present, which is hand embroidered. It’s a beautiful piece and I couldn’t imagine having food spilled all over it, so I asked Valarie if she might be able to transform it into a poncho. It’s now a standout in my wardrobe, and I love it very much. Besides Valarie’s talent in tailoring etc., she makes what could be a stressful and anxiety inducing situation fun and relaxed, and I can’t wait for my next appointment.”
